Zuid-Holland pleased with improvement of accesssibility around Antwerp – Rotterdam

The Province of Zuid-Holland is pleased with the breakthrough that has been reached in Vlaanderen regarding the improvement of accesssibility around Antwerp, the Oosterweel Link (de Oosterweelverbinding) and the Radicaal haventracé.

Jaap Smit, the King’s Commissioner, and Regional Minister Floor Vermeulen met the mayor and alderman of Antwerp along with the General Delegate of the Flemish Government on Monday, 13 March. ‘’This is a historic breakthrough  that is of great importance for Antwerp, for the link with Rotterdam and for the link between the ports in both cities”, says Jaap Smit. “This creates a promising perspective for economic growth in this part of the Flemish Netherlands Delta.”

In the context of the Mirt-agreement, the Province of Zuid-Holland alongside the Dutch Government and the Province of Zeeland, strive to reinforce the corridor between Rotterdam and Antwerp (CRA) to improve the area’s accessibility between the port areas and the chances of development in terms of economy, sustainability and innovation. The Province of Zuid-Holland anticipates to work with Flemish parties to reinforce the corridor even further in the future.
