More space for innovations in Zuid-Holland
Published on 11 March 2019
The Province of Zuid-Holland offers more innovative projects the opportunity to make use of the EFRO Zuid-Holland co-financing scheme.
In addition, the Province is making funds available to field labs on the following themes - sustainability of the process industry, vertical farming, e-health, medical instruments and airport technology - as part of the operational programme Opportunities for West II (Kansen voor West II).
Innovative projects of the Interreg V Flanders Netherlands programme regarding the environment and resources used not to be eligible for provincial co-financing. That condition now lapses, and this change makes even more innovative projects eligible for subsidy. This offers businesses even more opportunities to contribute to the transition to the Next Economy, characterised by digitisation and sustainability of the economy in Zuid-Holland.
Over 5.5 million Euro for field labs
Besides expanding the Interreg programme's scheme, this year the Province is making €500,000 available to the operational programme Opportunities for West II. In addition to this provincial co-financing, European (EFRO) and government funding will become available, resulting in a total of more than €5.5 million for field labs.
Over 4 million for heat grids
The Provincial Executive adds a further €3,223,386 to its provincial co-financing for projects that contribute to the development and implementation of local heat grids to make existing local buildings and homes more sustainable. It is much needed, as - only in Zuid-Holland - on average 80,000 homes have to be made more sustainable each year, for instance, by developing heat grids. Further to the provincial co-financing, European (EFRO) and government funding will be made available, resulting in a total sum of €4,098,715.
The grant scheme opens on 13 March 2019. Information on the Interreg co-financing is available on Interreg.
