Interreg Flanders-The Netherlands
The Interreg programme is an EU programme aimed at stimulating cross-border cooperation in Europe, finding solutions for common challenges in border regions and exploiting the growth potential of these areas. The programme is part-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). There is a specific Interreg programme for every European border region.
The province of Zuid-Holland is involved in the Interreg programmes North Sea Region, Northwest Europe and Europe, and advises (potential) project participants from the province on taking part in and obtaining funding from the Interreg 2 Seas and Interreg Flanders-The Netherlands programmes.
Interreg Flanders-The Netherlands subsidises cross-border projects on smart, green and inclusive growth. The following themes are identified within the programme:
- innovation: strengthening research, technological development and innovation
- sustainable energy: support for energy efficiency and renewable energy
- environment and resources: protecting the environment and promoting resource efficiency
- labour: promoting employment and supporting labour mobility
Zuid-Holland co-finances projects within the Interreg Flanders-The Netherlands programme for up to 15% of the costs of project participants from the province of Zuid-Holland. The province can also assist participants in finding a project partner.
