Vice Governor Adri Bom-Lemstra video keynote speech at global urban agriculture and horticultural technology webinar CAU Futong
On 16 May, CAU Futong, the commercial service platform under China Agriculture University organized a webminar about urban agriculture and horticultural technology with international speakers and global audiences.
Urban agriculture and horticultural technology seminar is an annual event that CAU Futong organized in Beijing since 2010. Because of the coronavirus, traveling is highly restricted. With this concern, Futong organized his first webminar about urban agriculture and horticultural technology.
Apart from a few domestic speakers, Mrs. Adri Bom-Lemstra, Vice-governor at Province of Zuid-Holland, the Chairwoman of Dutch Greenport was invited to deliver a keynote speech via video at the opening ceremony of the webminar.
At her speech, Mrs. Bom-Lemstra introduced the Dutch horticultural sector in general, she was glad that the cooperation between China and the Netherlands in the field of horticultural sector made significant progresses in the last a few years, and Chinese companies like Futong offered a great contribution to the cooperation.
There are a few sub-sessions targeted to professional audiences, and business network and partners of Futong. At one of the sessions, Mrs. Miranda van den Ende, Managing Director of TomatoWorld addressed a video presentation about TomatoWorld, the concept of feeding and greening megacity and Dutch Greenport 3.0.
TomatoWorld is a Dutch foundation with top companies in the sector of horticulture, aims to share Dutch knowledge, technologies and sustainable cultivation methods to global visitors. CAU Futong was granted the “Golden member” status of TomatoWorld since end of last year. This is the first time that a Chinese horticultural company plays a major role in a mainstream horticultural organization in the Netherlands.
Hoogendoorn and CODEMA, the other two members of TomatoWorld also delivered two online presentations about let’s grow system and automation in greenhouse at another sub-session. Other members such as Van der Knaap, De Ruiter Seeds, Syngenta and BASF provided their promotion video and left contact info at the online matchmaking platform.
According to a third party statistics, around 500 thousand audiences participated the webminar.
