Yunnan Commerce Department visits Zuid-Holland
On December 5th, Wiebe Brandsma, Head of the Economic and Social Department of Zuid-Holland hosted a courtesy call for the delegation from the Yunnan Commerce Department, led by Deputy Director-general Mrs. Sun Yan. The visit was introduced by the Chinese Embassy in The Hague. The delegation came to the Netherlands in order to promote local business and seek potential cooperation opportunities in the fields of agriculture, cooling logistics and trade & investment.
During the courtesy call, Mr. Wiebe Brandsma first introduced the important role that Zuid-Holland is playing in the Dutch national economy, as well as the top sectors in the region. Afterwards, Mr. Brandsma introduced the China activities of Zuid-Holland to the delegation, the cooperation relations with Hebei Province and Shanghai Pudong New Area.
The delegation showed great interest to learn about the economic development of Zuid-Holland as well as the Netherlands. Mrs. Sun Yan mentioned that, because of its location, Yunnan Province can be the gateway to Southwest China and the Asian market for Dutch companies, especially for businesses in the fields of flower, agriculture, and logistics. The Yunnan Commerce Department will fully support Dutch companies’ operation in the region.
