The King's Commissioner's mission to China November 2019
The Province of Zuid-Holland's China Desk is organising a mission to China led by the King’s Commissioner Mr Jaap Smit in the week from 18 until 22 November 2019. Zuid-Holland has a long-term and fruitful cooperation with the Province of Hebei and the urban district of Shanghai Pudong.
Besides attending the official visits, Dutch businesses taking part in the mission will have an extensive and varied programme focusing on the themes of sustainable development (water, soil, environment, and urban development) and modern agriculture and horticulture. The current programme comprises lectures, matchmaking sessions, work visits, network events, meetings with local authorities and more.
The mission is being organised in collaboration with the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) and the Dutch Embassy. With these and various Chinese parties we will organise a seminar on 18 November on the former World Expo site in Beijing. The theme of the seminar is sustainable urban development and the agriculture and horticulture's role in that.
At the end of the week, the mission will visit Shanghai Chongming, where the Flower Expo will take place in 2021, and where a conference will take place on Big data in agriculture and horticulture.
We would like to refer you to the appended provisional programme and invite you to take part in Zuid-Holland's mission! If you would like to make your own contribution to the programme, we would be happy to hear from you.
