Visit of the Chinese Ambassador to the Province of Zuid-Holland
On September 20th, King’s Commissioner Jaap Smit hosted a courtesy call for Chinese Ambassador H.E. Mr. Wu Ken in the Provincial Hall in The Hague, before his visit to China.
Mr. Wu Ken was appointed as the Chinese Ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands in May of this year. This was the first time for him to meet with the governor of the Province of Zuid-Holland.
During the courtesy call, Mr. Jaap Smit first introduced the important role that Zuid-Holland is playing in the Dutch national economy, as well as the organization of the provincial government. Afterwards, Mr. Smit introduced the China activities of Zuid-Holland to Ambassador Wu Ken, the cooperation relations with Hebei Province and Shanghai Pudong New Area.
Ambassador Wu Ken showed great interest to learn about the economic development of Zuid-Holland and the fruitful cooperation with her Chinese counterparts. He mentioned that the Chinese Embassy will continue to provide necessary support to the Province of Zuid-Holland, especially during the celebration of the 10th anniversary with Hebei Province next year.
